The BRSC Fleet

The club maintains a large number of dingys from Picos and RS Vision to the Cornish Shrimper. Please browse the following images and description, which depict our fleet.

A Bosun

Bosun.  The Bosun is a basic Naval sail training boat.  It is a robust, time proven (30 year+) design, simple to rig and easy to sail.  The Bosun is used by the go to top of pageclub for adult beginner training.

Our Pico fleet

Laser Pico.  The Pico is a single handed boat, which is roomy enough to be sailed by 2 young people. It is go to top of pagean excellent training boat and most members will have lernt to sail in one. We have 6 of them.

Our Topper Fleet

Topper.  The Topper is a single handed boat that is light and easy to sail.  It is ideal for young people.  It has a single sail and the rigging is simple. We have 6 of thesebut normally only 1 at the waterside unless a course go to top of pageis being run.

Laser 1. This must be the most popular single hander in the world. We have 3 of them.

The Laser Stratos

Laser Stratos.  The Stratos is a modern advanced training boat.  It is very stable and idea for teaching the use of asymmetric spinnakers and trapeze techniques. Due to its wide hull design it can take up to 5 people. We only go to top of pagehave the one of these. The Stratos parked

Our Laser 2K

Laser 2000 . A very popular racing boat. Goes really well with the asymmetric Genaker up! We only have one of go to top of pagethese. But this one is so good it even sails itself!

RS Vision

RS Vision.  The RS Vision is an advanced training boat.  It is light, easy to handle and has an asymmetric spinnaker. We only have 1 of these.

The Cornish Shrimper

Cornish Shrimper.  The Shrimper is a cruising day boat.  It has a lifting keel, is very stable and has gaff rigged sails.  It has a single cabin and is an ideal boat for family outings.  To sail the Shrimper you need to be a day skipper or have a level 2 dinghy qualifications and attend a keel boat training session, which can be conducted at go to top of pagethe club. We only have 1 of these.

Dart 16

Dart 16.  The Dart 16 is an introductory level catamaran.  It is fast and great fun to sail.  To sail the Dart you need a level 2 dinghy qualification and attend a catamaran training session, which can be run at the club.  We only go to top of pagehave one of these.

 

RS 400.  The RS 400 is an advanced dinghy with an asymmetric spinnaker.  It is an international class racing boat.  You will need training to use this boat.  It is not a boat for the faint hearted. We only have 1 of these. go to top of page

Our Rib Safety boat

Rib. We have a rib as our safety boat. You will need y level 2 powerboat certificate to drive this.  

Dory. This is our other safety boat but it is normally kept in the hangar and only used for courses.
