Courses and Training
Fancy trying out a new sport?
The British Roermond Sailing Club caters for Dinghy and Windsurfing for the UK military and their dependants as well as UKBC's. Located on the shore of the Roermond lakes, the club is able to offer members a relaxing location to sail, whether it’s for cruising or racing.
The club has an extensive range of over 30 dinghies, ranging from the small training boats such as ‘Optimist’ and ‘Topper’ to the more advanced racing boats including the ‘RS 400’ and ‘RS Vision’. We also have a ‘Cornish Shrimper’ suitable for family cruising. There is a boat available to suit everybody’s sailing ability.
Although not exclusively a training facility, the club occasionally offers training on a volunteer basis through our own club members. For the novice, courses are available to teach you how to safely sail a boat, following the Royal Yachting Associations Level 1&2 (Basic Sailing Course) syllabus, progressing through to courses for the more experienced, to become instructors and safety boat operators.![]()
